This is a simple tool for calculating what bitrate you should use when encoding video. This is by no means an exhaustive guide to video encoding and the number it spits out may not be applicable in all situations.


  1. Enter your desired file size for the end video file (WPTV is 1GB).
  2. Check the timecode of your video. For example it's 30 minutes and 25 seconds.
  3. Type the minutes and seconds in the "Video length" fields
  4. Crunch the numbers!
